Recognising excellence in aged care training – Goodwin Aged Care Services

Minister for Ageing, Justine Elliot presented training awards to 85 aged care workers from Goodwin Aged Care Services in Canberra.

The Rudd Government is committed to building a health workforce for the future and has invested more than $135 million to create more than 21,600 training places for aged care workers.

Of the 85 recipients, 42 training qualifications were funded under the Rudd Government through the Better Skills for Better Care, Community Aged Care Workforce and Dementia Care Essentials programs.

Goodwin Aged Care Services received the 2009 Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Training and Staff Development’ and were highly commended in the ‘Innovation in Staff Recruitment and Retention’ in the residential care category.
